We share our experiences in marketing our first Indie game.
Some lessons learned along the way.
We are an Indie Game Studio!
And we have no idea what we are doing...
This is a (hopefully) safe place where we are going to record and share our attempt at making our first indie title, The Quizard's Domain, a success. If you are reading this it probably worked and if you are not, then we will sink into obscurity in silence.
Marketing a game, getting the world to pay attention and respond to what we are doing seems to be one of the hardest things for new game developers. Coding, art, music - all of these things are obviously essential, but marketing often gets left to the last minute when it arguably should be first among equals in the Indie Game Dev Tool Belt.
Picking a mailing list

Don't forget the basics
January 2024
Google Analytics is boring and shows you almost nothing before you have a good amount of traffic but you don't want to wake up one morning with a TON of traffic and no idea where it came from. The only way to learn which campaigns are working is to know when you get traffic spikes.
